Had to go out and sweat a little after my high fever...had Joel to come along with me for a short session. First stop..we couldn't fish..as Mediacorp was filming there y*&$&&^#^* so we went to another place.. Not bad thou..as Joel had a huge take on his Storm frog...he almost had a heart attack LOL ..No more bite so we went off to another area..landed some smallies and by 6pm..the fishes were active!! We had all misses and i lost a big one..why? Fg knot anyhow tie when too gan jiong lol! Nvm..at least i got land something and Joel had his first fish on jig haha!

Went down to try our my new super ultra light rod^^Was using fly and landed a little bugger^^Went deeper in after seeing no more action.Walk walk walk and reach! Spotted some surface action and wip out my daiso minnow..retrieve steadily ...twitch HIT! Thought it was a small one and when i started to tighten the line more..ZZZZZZZZzzzzZzZzzzzZ! Damn! Can't lose it! Control the fish nicely and finally grip it on my boga..woots! So long no land such good size one hehe ..rod bending was crazy man! In the end ,still then $2 lure did the job!!

For those who come to seek for spots for the purpose of the fish ,not the thrill of fishing ,then get lost. Singapore is such a small country with limited freshwater legal grounds. With all these catching and keeping of fishes, how do you think the community can continue living on? Well ,if you really want to eat fish ,go to the market! And if you are only going for the thrill of fishing ,then YOU ARE MOST WELCOMED! I'm not saying that you cannot bring them home but please have your limits.Limit yourself to about 2-3 ,thats already enough! Pandan Reservoir

Used to be a very good spot for peacock bass. Loads of them but now mostly gone too due to

people tapao-ing. I'm not sure where the legal ground is but there is one. Try spin fly or minnows or small poppers

.I believe they will work.

Bedok Reservoir

I wonder if this is the legal fishing ground but I'm sure theres one. This is a good place

to hunt for catfish ,peacock bass and little tilapias. I've not been there so i don't really know

what lures are effective there.But i would suggest you to use small minnows and flies.

Most probably they will work. Cast by the shallow waters and retrieve slow with twitches in between.

If water is calm...that means better chance of spotting or catching a fish! Those who stay near here

,you can give it a try !

Mcritchie Reservoir

I would suggest you to not waste time and fish here.Legal ground is always full of people kayaking and has ropes all over. Catch rate there suks and even if you were to hit a big one ,the fish will run for cover, causing your line to get tangled to the ropes ,thus snapping.So why not save your time and try other places? However if you really wish to try ,go ahead! I believe this place will hold some good size soon hock by the rocky banks during the night!

Lower Pierce Reservoir

Nice place to sit and relax or do luring. This place used to hold many peacock basses but mostly gone due to tapao-kings. However ,you can still try your luck there as I've still seen people landing good size tomans and peacock basses.On minnow ,popper ,fly, walk the dog,rubber. Beware of the monkeys there ..they simply will sneak up to you and snatch your belongings away! Try your luck here ,as you may never know what u've gonna get!

Upper Seletar Reservoir

Quite a good spot for smallies i can say.One of my favourite spot.To cut short, during cold and nice weather ,

small minnows, flies, rubbers work very good there.Sadly to say ,the baiters love to go there..and when catches

is good they will each bring more than 10 fishes home. Commonly caught fishes there are temensis and

zebra tilapia.The legal ground is located at the grass area right in front of the bus stop. Yes there are monsters

in there!

Lower Seletar Reservoir

Legal fishing ground is located at the jetty.A nice place to relax and lure. During cold weather and when the water is calm ,you can spot tomans rising ,peacock basses loitering at shallow waters.Don't wait, cast! Recommended to use spin fly or small minnows for the pb there and top water lures like popper ,walk the dog or frog for tomans there.There are real huge monster tomans in there ! However ,catch rate here isn't that good due to baiters around. You'll never know!

Kranji Reservoir

Theres 2 legal ground .If you are still targetting for your peacock bass ,don't hesitate, head down to kranji reservoir and give it a shot! Try spin fly or small minnows ,they work! Big tomans do lurk around there so you might be the lucky one to get a hit from the toman ;)Please do not venture around there into non designated fishing grounds ,water is very deep and 'dirty' ,no one will be able to save you should any mishap take place.

Went to old playground ,with a little confidence...shoot out my buzzbait and clark clark clark bak..10 min no fish..continue luring ,30 min no fish...moved further in..spotted one..cast my halco popper over it ,pop and pop..fish wasn't spooked...ken cast his behind mine...pop pop boooshshsh!!! Had a great tug of war...and finally landed his first EVER TOMAN!!! Congrats !!!See his face..a picture speaks a thousand sentences..lol

What a beauty..fish released within a short period..hope it will not take any of the baits there ..lol
Before gg home..i had a couple of takes and simply no hookup >< Nvm, still happy for Ken!

First catch to start the day! Reached spot at ard 9am...*yawns*

After that no more action...i walked and walked and walked and saw a school of red fishes...lol kept casting at them but hard because they are moving so damn fast...while retrieving..i had a thug and strike...fight then landed this good size bugger ^^
Moved to another spot...1pm already...quite shag and tired so sat down and cast ard..

*Press on snooze button* continued sleeping and " ringggggg" haix wake up*yaaawwns* .slowly walked to wash room freshen up and open the door...fresh cooling air rushed in and i felt energized! Pack up and met Ken ^^ Took the train down and weather wasn't good..sky was dark. Reached at ard 9am and started casting around ,no fish ,no take ,no sign of ripples and it started rainin heavily...damn! Sitting under the shelter for like 20 min then rain stopped^^ Carrying on luring ,and the rain came again...HAI YO....Dun care just lure HIT! Ken had a fish on while i was popping and booosh! Got a take on my popper but miss >< Fish landed by ken and released fast ...move in further after rain stop. Ken again landed one more haha lady luck with him...floor was wet and it suks lol..slipper keep got the "juark juark sound" Reached the end and started using all lures i have. Using the sight fishin method...i saw a good size temensis...cast my precious rapala huskyjerk..retrieve twitch Hit! STRIKE Fish on! Another pole fishin trip Tide was pretty low and i got about 10 pieces of prawn with me.Quickly setup and fished. Pretty bad start for the day as the fishes ain't feeding well. I only managed to land some Silty Wrasse and Sergeants. Thought that it could be the prob with the length of line so i increased it. Hmm ,bite rate increased ! Me had fun playing with some chocolate and blue hinds ,ang zho ki ,parrots and more Sergeants. Alot of burst take which eventually open up my small hook Tide was rising and bite rate became better I had a couple of good size blue hind and parrot.Took a video of me fighting the fish hehe

Another trip with Ken.. Headed down ,me equip with medium set while him with a super ultra light set lol..reached ,walk in and gave a few cast...no hit. Took another step and step back ,OMFG! Saw a pair of good size temensis!! Hehe ,next step? Cast lor They did chase but no hit..slowly they moved out and no sign off them. Sad ,kept casting ard there and HIT! Fish on! No much fight ,told Ken to cast and the wifey wack his lure too! Double hookup Faster took a few shots and released! Happy Ken with his biggest catch up to date! On ultra light somemore!! I landed a smaller one after that and nothing else for the day ,went home with tired pair of legs but WORTH IT LA

Spots getting lesser and lesser. Seletar Reservoir used to hold tons of pb and tomans ,now? U can't even land ONE despite luring the whole day. This is just an example.... Alot of spots are either revealed to tapao-sters ,baiters or netters. How to do? We've scolded them,talked to them nicely ,called the PUB but it doesn't seem to work.Yes i used to be one of them when i was young...but they are already grown ups,adults to be specific. Keeping those 1kg + - sizes ones , perhaps one or 2 pieces if acceptable. But bringing home those palm sizes ones?!?!? There are many times I saw baiters bringing home 2-3 big bags of baby pb ,temensis or eartheaters home. Pointless. I am not here to complain. I am just disappointed of how fishing has come to. Where is SPORT FISHING?! It is actually possible , where baiters can come ,landed 1-2 kg size fishes and bring a couple home and lurers still being able to landed big or small fishes for the fight. If tapao people limit their catches that are to be brought home ,it is possible for this to happen. Singapore wants to earn money ,economical stuffs and etc. As sport fishing don't produce any sort of profit to our country, it is not being concerned.Look at our legal spots. For example ,Macritchie Reservoir. Ropes all over ,how to fish?!I believe every lurers will be sooo appreciative and glad if our government spend some effort into make sport fishing a better for everyone! We don't expect much ,we just hope to have legal ,productive and nice place to fish or to be more specific ,lure!

Went to try our my new reel No frenzy today..as i was casting my the rocky banks ,i got my lure stucked so i went over and retrieved it.Lost my plier there...went around to search but couldn't find so i gave a cast from the rocks. Hit!! ZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz Fish striped out 10-20m of line in a few seconds...crazy bugger! Then it made a beautiful jump from afar! Finally! Tame it slowly and managed to land it! Was darn happy but sad to see the stomach got huge bite marks from toman, i guess..took 2 shots and released!!
Gave a few more cast and go home liao

Headed down to a fresh ground.Went down with some joker kaki Reached spot and it was burning hot!!!! Set up and cast! Under the scorching sun ,we gave cast after cast and no hit! Just like 10 minutes ,I already felt tired.. Determined ,I continued to cast and a tug came to fill up all the hope! STRIKE! Fish on and i played it slowly..on my ultra light ! Beautiful pb! Took a shot and released! ^^ Continued fishing under the sun but no more take.So we moved on. Water looks great! I used my DIY fly , cast...twitch twitch boom!!! Effective Fish took out quite some line ...HUAT AR! Slowly tamed it and landed.Took a shot and released! After that i hit another one and i could see a pair of mama temensis following the juvenile that I have hooked on to!!!! They kept lurking around but didn't want to take our flies ...tried for so long and no take so we gave up on them! Times almost up as night was falling....we slowly moved out while casting. I still managed to land a baby toman ^^ Thanks ar! Kakis also landed some temensis... Funny fishin day!! ^^

Headed down to punggol park to kill some itch and meet rookie. Water was chopping and it was pretty windy. I set up ,hook a shrimp and cast....Not long i landed some tilapias and released them.After rookie left i went to another part to fish. I threw all the shrimp into the water and hook the last piece.Floater suddenly dip into the water..STRIKE! My drag was very low and the fish keep ZZZZzzzzzZz. Fought for like 1 min ,landed the nice pb ,took a shot and released! Changed to fly and cast along the grassy part. Twitch twitch twitch STIKE! Fish on again ,hahas, not much fight ,pump it up ,took another shot and released. Ok la ,itch cured. Haha ,moved on and gave a few more cast ,hit another small one ,took the last shot ,released and headed home.

Brought Ken along for a short luring trip.Mainly i wanna let him land some temensis^^ Hahas ,reached spot ,we already got to know each abit.. Walked in and spotted a pair..lady luck was holding my hands..lol. Walked my dog and hit! Pump and landed it ,photo taking then released Hahahs ,both of us happy liao ,walk in somemore and cast my yuzori crystal minnow towards the tempting weeds... Retrieve ,twitch ,retrieve ,twitch ,twitch..barm!! STRIKE but fish threw hook....made another cast ,lure touched water, barm!!! Miss! Retrieve and twitch and BARM!! Pump.....and landed...photo taking and released..^^ Satisfied!! Hahahas, Ken still working hard! We moved in deeper but hit none so we decided to move out.....I passed my little minnow to him and in no time ,he hit one! Gud MMA fighter temensis :D pump..ZzZzzZzZ PUMP XZzZzzzzZz PUMP ZZzZz after 30-40seconds ,fish landed ..took some shots and released! Hahas, no zero fighter liaos. Moved out somemore and Ken hit another one!! This one gave a better fight ! Fish also released after photo taking^^ ;) Everyone sastisfied ,we moved out and headed home.

Fish took out hell load of line ,i tried pumping but can't.Thought i could finally land my record fish but it got stucked into the weeds.I pulled as hard as possible but no hope.The fish was still on! Another crazy trip! I headed down to a freshy ground. Hoping to hit a biggy so to test my new reel. I moved around while casting but there was no take at all.Saw a soon hock surface after a huge splash..i tried to revive it and it dart into the deep when i pull the tail ,hope u recover ^^ With sweat dripping down my neck,i continued. At the same time i regretted for no bringing my water bottle.I was thirsty like hell! Nvm ,fish more important ^^ I moved far out and luckily i spotted a school of juvenile snakeheads.I cast boom! Cast boom! Hehe ,after landing about 6 pieces i moved on... The fishes just were not huge enough to challenge my reel. Found another ground ,looks promising ,i cast my swimbait...retrieve..barm!! 80% drag...thug of war at the mean time..........fish threw hook -_-. Pretty good fight ,i gave another cast..boom! Thug of war again! But fish threw hook. Not that big but put up a great fight.I gave a few more cast but no hit so i moved again. Found my old ground ,and i could see 2 huge snakehead schools... i once remembered someone told me" When they are around ,the mama temensis will be lurking around too" Hahas, i cast and played with the snakehead with my Zerek Rocker vib. 2 put up a good fight ,released and made my 3rd cast..boom! OMG...strip strip strip strip..zzzzzzz....i began trembling CUZ THE MAMA TEMENSIS WAS VISIBLE!!! My 80% drag was still on!! Big mistake ,my owner hook opened up! I shouted over there"WTF!!!!" And then i sat down for like 5 min....hook open up ,line snapped after i slightly pull it....SIAN. Thought i could have broke my personal record man... Haiz...still have to fish...i made a few more cast and landed a pb, not much of a fight.Then i changed to fly....had alot of fun playing wiht baby peacocks and temensis....then PUB come...OMG...ZAO! Haiz...

Hoping to land a kim...i bashed all the way in to a old ground. Saw Ah laus landed kim and ang zho ki...on live prawn.. walked for sooo long and tio sooo many sandfly bites ,I'm stil determined to land a fish.Reached spot ,saw like 3-4 huge baitfish school. Cast my tackle house minnow out alot times and out of like 40 cast...hit! Fish did alot of acro jump but still didn't managed to run away from me Landed it ,took a shot and quick release! Sky was too dark for me to continue..bo bian even though water was tempting...i chiong out but too bad rain caught up with me. I got totally drenched just trying to keep my bag dry Anyway ,I was satisfied

After a long rest....I decided to hop down to a freshy ground for a little exercise. Reached there..sun was scorching but i could see from afar the dark grey clouds were gathering. Setup and equip ammo. I was using Zerek Rocker Vib...very good la..the rattle extremely loud! Made a few cast but no hit so i walked around. As usual...i try to spot the fishes but didn't manged to spot one cuz of the choppy water... Telling myself i have to land at least one cuz i took 2 bus there.. Hahahas...waited for so long...then finally water calmed down a little...i try to use my naked eyes again and finally spot one!!! First cast no hookup ,second also no hookup ,third too..fourth...untill around the 10th cast...boom! Hmm...good fight!Nice pb. Enough to cure my poison for awhile. Boga it...took 2 shots and released!! Rain approaching....zao!!

Woah..kinda not used to the new skin but nice ,thanks Mods Ps so long bo post Cr...first thing first no fish catch secondly my pc tio trojan..lol. Another salty adventure. This time..i used the 'lying' technique(luring) . Cast out my yozuri crystal minnow....tide was low but great for luring on water break...had no hit.Changed to my alive casting spell...no hit. Changed to chug bug...pop when wave was coming in...had a small hit but didn't hook up. Dad and his friend were baiting but had only nibbles. Sad man... everyone was so disappointed. Not for me!! I moved on and cast my yozuri crystal minnow....during casting..line got stucked to the bail and the lure was only like 15m out. Wanna recast ,i reeled in fast...boom!!zZzZ!ZzzZ!zzZ!! Woah..knew it was a queen...played for like 2min? Landed the beauty!! First queen of my luring adventure so far! Darn happy!! Took some shots and CnR it fast...Woooo!! Lols...then dad say pack up cuz no fish..hahas..happy boy go home:) Anyways before fishing we saw 3 malay people classifying their catch from gor(a type of trap) . They got like alot of beautiful marine fishes and more than 50 rabbit fish(peh tor) . Dam tempting to catch lor!!

Me" steady lor!!" We packed dead prawns and tackle and off we go! This time went with father's kaki too! Reach the meetup up place, dad's kaki 's vespa "coughinh" don't want start ,so i had to help push..lol..take it as warm up! It was like 5:13pm and we reached spot. Immediately set up and chiong liao.. The rocks were dam slippery..everyone fell down alot times..shit man..dad had a serious one...but luckily he is ok still the pain is there. God bless him! I start prawn spinning ,got some hit but none landed so i changed to apollo rig.Cast out..sink..wait....had a pull pull i strike ,line snapped..lol. Outside also got big rock..bo bian..tie new rig with floater. This time..i just cast 4m away from shore...float sink..STRIKE! Fish on!! This continue the whole dad lol!! I landed rock fish ,blue hinds ,snapper and some other smallies....All released except for the big blue hinds and a couple of small ones. Dad had like 5-7 pieces already.His kaki landed 2 and a grouper!! Fun la i can say...night falls and the bite rate was better but big ones suddenly stop biting. Ge Kiang ,i go hook one whole prawn hoping to land a huge grouper with just a small hook.Throw out....and after 20seconds when the huge wave hit the rocks...still nothing.I b ring up and cast nearer to shore ..wait..float down!STRIKE!!Big one..really lucky! Pump but can't....too strong.I shouted to dad...big one! HO SEI! Then line loosen..So sian liao....too sian to continue. Checked line and hook. Line fray..hook open. Shit man..ge kiang use small hook! Hai! At about 9pm..we packed up and left the sea with a very satisfied smile.Cheers! Next time hor ,you all fishing and aiming big ones ,use big hook..owner would be great!! Don't think think sure can land one...dun think will have so big one!!!

Another day out with dad ,to a new salty ground! We had pretty high hope because we boughr 300g live prawn and tide was high.But............forgot bring air pump tube ,prawn mostly died. The sea bed ,wasn't rocky enough for groupers to hide ,thou ah laus said got huge kim. Set up fast ,cast out all the live prawn. Water current was super strong and made fishing hard for us. Not giving up ,we continued till the current become normal. Bite rate increased too. I had a strong take but when i give a hard strike ,piak!! LOLs...so loud..'then another guy came too.We chat the whole day and he was friendly!! Hahas ..after baiting so long with no more takes ,i started luring. Cast out my eupro minnow, cast cast cast cast cast..and cast boomz!!! Woohoo!!! Fish jumped out and threw hook....lols..looked like today or cuda. Wa! WA! So excited i keep on casting but no more take.Changed back to baiting ,caught a flatfish..dad too. Then again no bite...so continued luring.Cast...retrieve ,twitch ,now usin alive casting spell and got stucked!! I pull 4 times dun wan come out..sian..wait for wave come..bring rod high up..pull.out! Retrieve..booom!!! WA!!! pump pump..fish jump like siao and there i go!! Huge todak! Muahaha..released after photo taking!! Now feel so shiok....so long since i've landed something with lure in the salty world.Finally low tide ,me and dad walk out to the rocks..started prawn spinning.. Fell down alot times...climb back up.. continue. Hit some blue hinds..come too small CnR..some keep.Then really no fish liao..balek!!
